Purpose

Support the implementation of R + D projects

Intended for

Transformative Projects: These are industrial research, experimental development, and testing and experimentation infrastructure acquisition projects that are transformative in nature and considered unique and distinctive due to their characteristics and features. They are aligned with the strategic priorities of the Basque Country Industry Plan 2030 and represent an improvement in competitiveness in the strategic sectors IRABAZI (Automotive Components, Sustainable Mobility, Advanced Manufacturing, Energy, Metallurgy) and HAZI (Aerospace, Biomedical, Digital Solutions (AI, Cybersecurity, Quantum Physics), Smart Grids and Storage, Renewable Fuels).

Strategic Projects: Industrial research or experimental development projects of a strategic nature, framed within the sectors established as strategic in the Basque Country Industry Plan 2030, that promote public-private collaboration in Research, Technological Development and Innovation, thereby having a driving effect on the Basque Country’s economy, favoring the participation of SMEs and access to the Horizon Europe Programme.

Competitive projects: Industrial research or experimental development projects aimed at developing new products, processes, or services, or that significantly improve existing ones.

Amount

Transformative Projects:

Total Budget: €20M minimum.
Budget per participant: €250,000 minimum.
Maximum duration: 3 years.
Transformative projects, considered distinctive and unique due to their characteristics, that are aligned with the strategic priorities of the Basque Country Industry Plan 2030. Projects based on industrial leadership with a high structural and systemic impact in the Basque Country and that contribute to European strategic autonomy.
High degree of innovation in relation to the current state of knowledge or technology in their field, developed by at least 3 companies in collaboration with agents of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network (RVCTI) and Cluster Development Organizations.

Strategic Projects:

Total Budget: €4M minimum.
Maximum duration: 3 years.
Strategic projects framed within the strategic sectors of the Basque Country Industry Plan 2030. Projects that have a driving effect on the Basque Country’s economy, promoting SME participation and access to the Horizon Europe Programme.
Collaborative research involving at least 3 companies and RVCTI agents as subcontractors.

Strategic Projects:

Total Budget: €100,000/year minimum.
Budget per participant: €50,000/year minimum.
R&D activities focused on developing new products, processes, or services, or on significantly improving existing ones.
R&D projects developed individually or in cooperation between two or more entities.
